AN 11-YEAR-OLD from Ayr has had his talent recognised in a poster competition for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Aaran Brodie, a pupil of Wellington School, has been named the Ayrshire and Arran regional winner of the 2017 competition.
Aaran’s winning design shows a line drawing contrasted with a red background.
The lined figure holds two musical instruments with the Forth Rail Bridge running behind.
It will be displayed as part of a special free exhibition, open to the public, at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh from June 6 to the August 28, alongside 13 other regional winners.
The competition launched in 1980 and is one of Scotland’s longest-running arts outreach projects.
This year, 238 classes from 187 schools across Scotland took part and 5,500 pupils entered the competition using any art form, such as photography, poetry, digital creations, sculptures, illustrations, paintings and print work.
