TROON Muirhead Co-op reopened it's doors last week with a little help from local children.

The store reopened Thursday, May 11 with the children of Meadowgreen Nursery cutting the ribbon, after the refrigeration unit caught fire in March.

The new and improvement chain, on Dundonald Road, now features the Co-op’s iconic blue clover-leaf branding along with a focus on fresh, healthy foods, meal ideas and essentials.

Duncan Maurer, Area Manager for the Co-op, said: “We’re excited to unveil the store’s modern new look.

"The return to our ‘clover leaf’ design logo was first used in the 1960’s and aims to re-establish the Co-op as a centre for the community.

"We’d like to say a big thank you to our customers for their patience over the past few weeks and look forward to serving them once again.

"Now is also the perfect time to remind people that they can make savings for themselves and contribute to local causes by becoming a Co-op member.”

There are offers and promotions in and around the new Co-op to mark its re-launch and students who are in the area and hold a Young Scot card, will receive 10 per cent off their groceries.
