TWO of Scotland’s top crime writers are coming to Troon.

Charity Hansel has organised a special fundraising lunch ‘Killer Heels and Lunch to Die for’ with crime writers, Alex Grey and Lin Anderson, on Friday, June 9.

The two behind the Bloody Scotland Festival, will provide a behind the scenes look at a life of crime at Lochgreen Hotel in Troon.

They will be reading extracts from their latest novels, take part in a question and answer session and sign copies of their work.

Sheila McLean, Hansel’s fundraising manager, said: “This is a completely new event for us and we are very excited about it.

“We are delighted that Alex and Lin have agreed to take time away from their desks to come along and talk about their work and lend their support to the charity.

"I know there are lots of avid readers and great book groups in Ayrshire and I hope they will come along and enjoy a fantastic lunch and a chance to discuss crime writing with like-minded individuals.”

Alex Grey began writing professionally in 1993 and has been awarded the Scottish Association of Writers’ Constable and Pitlochry trophies for her crime writing.

Lin Anderson is best known as the creator of the forensic scientist Rhona MacLeod series of crime thrillers.

Her novel, Paths of the Dead, was shortlisted for the 2015 Scottish Crime Book of the Year.

Tickets for the event are now on sale for £35 per person and include a glass of fizz on arrival, three course meal and coffee.
