AYR author Yolanda McCall will be 'Unlocking the Tower' tomorrow and will be talking about her first book.

This is a free all day event, on Saturday, May 6 to explore the unique history of St John’s Tower in Ayr.

Children will also be able to meet Yolanda, author of the children's book 'The Tale of a Scottish Tower'.

Saturday will be full of family-friendly activities, celebrating the tower’s heritage, from historic graffiti to laser scanning to virtual reality.

There will be opportunities for stone rubbing, soap carving and treasure hunting.

The Friends of St. John’s Tower (FrOST) are delighted that Scotland’s Urban Past will be hosting a heritage event, ‘Unlocking the Tower,’ at St. John’s Tower.

FrOST was formed in 2002, to promote and care for the beauty, history and character of the tower and its surroundings.

FrOST works in partnership with South Ayrshire Council, to preserve and improve the features of this historic building and its grounds for future generations.
