A WOMAN was attacked by a dog, thought to be a Golden Labrador, on Ayr's Chalmers Road.
The 58-year-old claimed she was bitten on the arm by the animal, which was not on a lead, at 7pm on Wednesday, March 22. The dog ripped the woman's jacket but did not puncture her skin.
A female who was in charge of the pet was been described as being between 35 and 40 in age and roughly 5'2 in height.
She was wearing glasses and had a back pack. She had short brown hair and is of stocky build. It is understood the woman did speak to the injured party but no details were exchanged.
Police are continuing inquiries and have issued a witness appeal. Anyone with any information should get in touch with Ayr Police Office on 101 and ask to speak to PC Bobby Clark.
