GIRVAN'S Age Concern will soon be renamed Margaret's Kitchen once the new signs are put in place.
The service, located on Duff Street, aims to help families and the elderly to provide them with a decent meal and prevent them from isolation.
They serve a three course meal from 12pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for £4.50. They also organise coach trips throughout the year and Christmas parties.
Chairwoman of Girvan's Age Concern, said: "It is so wonderful for people who are on their own to have somewhere to go.
"We provide three meals a week but they don't have to have the three courses. We hope to have changed the name to Margaret's Kitchen officially in the next month, once the signs are are delivered.
"We want to reach out to all ages as this service is for young families too."
MSP Brian Whittle visited the volunteers last Friday, March 24 and was impressed with the establishment. Anyone can become a member of the group but it is not mandatory.
