A POPULAR Prestwick gift shop has been named one of the best gift retailers in the UK and has been selected as a finalist in The Greats Gift Retailer Awards this year.
The Keekin’ Glass on 127 Main Street in Prestwick will be attending the awards ceremony down in London on Thursday, May 4 and they are pleased they have been nominated.
Gift shop owner Heather Newlands said: “We’re really excited to be a finalist because you normally expect this to happen to a shop in the cities like Glasgow and Edinburgh. We didn’t expect them to pick us, from a small town like Prestwick.
“Its surprising as well as we haven’t been open for a long time so its an accolade to be regarded as a finalist.”
The Greats Gifts Retailer Awards are now in their 15th year and were launched by Progressive Gifts & Home magazine to recognise and reward the UK’s very best gift retailers across the retail spectrum.
Sue Marks, Editor of Progressive Gifts & Home, said: “These dedicated awards for gift retailers have risen immeasurably in status over the years and are now universally acknowledged as being true accolades of excellence.
“There was a huge entry this year, with some outstanding, first class entries. Being selected as a finalist is a fantastic achievement.”
All retail finalists were decided as a result of an industry-wide poll of gift suppliers, representatives and agents and validation by a panel of experts.
The winners of this year’s prestigious gift retailing awards - The Greats 2017 – will be revealed at an awards lunch at the Grosvenor House in London.
