TARBOLTON book lovers are invited to the village’s brand new library, which is officially open for business.

The new and improved library, located in the new Tarbolton Community Campus, offers a bright, modern community space where people can browse for their favourite novels.

Residents are welcomed by a built facility with a private reading booth, colourful fittings, internet access, areas for public events, with the books from the old library now decanted into the new building.

The library was delivered as part of the £8.2 million Tarbolton Community Campus project which is part of a £94 million pipeline of works being delivered across South Ayrshire over the next 18 months.

Councillor Bill Grant, portfolio holder for economic development, tourism and leisure says the new library was another positive contribution to the village.

He said: “We’re committed to investing in our rural communities and this new library is the latest addition to Tarbolton’s brand new Community Campus.

“With a separate entrance to the school, this bright, modern space provides a great showcase for the old classics and modern bestsellers alike, something book lovers of every age should appreciate.

"I’m sure that when people visit the library for the first time they’ll be impressed."
