Councillors have praised Kincaidston Primary School following a glowing report from Education Scotland.

Councillors heard the positive news of Kincaidston Primary’s inspection that was reported a few weeks ago.

Ian Sturgeon, the headteacher for Kincaidston was present at the meeting to discuss the many positive aspects of the inspection at the school.

The inspection of Kincaidston Primary School and Early Years Centre found the following key strengths. Positive caring atmosphere across the school and the early years centre which is resulting in a calm learning environment for children.

Children across the school and early years centre are very positive, very well behaved and engaged in their learning.

The range of support given to children who have additional support needs which is enabling them to make good progress in their learning.

A flexible, nurturing early years centre setting that supports and motivates children to make good progress in their learning. The early years centre staff team are skilled and responsive in providing motivating play experiences. 

Councillor Margaret Toner said: “This is excellent, a very good report. Well done to all. Keep it up.”

Councillor Bill Grant also praised the school.

He said: “A big thank you to all the school. Kincaidston is a family.

“It is a very good effort.”
