CONCERN has been raised after Belleisle House was reportedly targeted by vandals over the Christmas period.
But the owner, Campbell Inns, says minimal damage was caused and that he did not want to press charges which has upset residents and supporters of the House and the park.
The issue was discussed at an Alloway and Doonfoot community council meeting last week where one visitor said that several windows had been smashed.
Speaking at the meeting PC Richie Armstrong, said: "Those who walk through Belleisle regularly have said that there was multiple damage caused to the windows.
"But that contradicts what the owner has said who has described it as minimal damage. The means we can't pursue anything but I think it needs repaired."
Cllr Bill Grant commented: "It was the east side of the house which faces the golf course which was affected which is within 40 or 50 yards of the brand new conservatory which we don't want vandalised again."
It is hoped something can be done to prevent further damage towards the house or the conservatory.
