TWO people have been injured following a bus crash in Kilwinning town centre this morning.
Lauchlan Way has been closed following a reported head-on collision between a bus and a car at around 8.30am
Ayrshire Police Division confirmed a woman was cut free from the vehicle and is now being treated at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.
Stagecoach say diversions are in place via the Blacklands and Woodwynd areas and the bypass.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 8.20am to a road traffic collision between a bus and car at Lauchlan Way, Kilwinning on Tuesday, December 13.
"Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to release one casualty from the car.
"The casualty was then transferred to the care of colleagues in the Scottish Ambulance Service.
"Crews left the scene at 9.38am after ensuring the area was made safe."
