AN Ayr woman has been placed under supervision after she was found lying in a doorway with a knife in her bra.
Paula Cassidy, 49, was discovered by cops laying in a doorway on the Sandgate back in June this year.
Depute Fiscal, Kirsty Urquhart said: "Police officers were on patrol at the Sandgate when they found the accused in a door way.
"When the ambulance arrived the crew started checking her heart when she told them 'be careful there's a knife in there."
Cops then discovered a steak knife tucked inside her bra.
Defence solicitor, Tony Currie said: "Such was her level in intoxication that she has very little recollection as to her motivation for having this weapon on her possession."
Mr Currie told the court how Cassidy had been at The West Kirk pub eating and she must have lifted the knife whilst drunk.
Sheriff John Montgomery said: "You need help in a number of areas, not least with the amount of alcohol you drink."
She was placed under supervision for two years.
