THE gymnasium at Troon Swimming Pool has just been transformed into a modern state-of-the-art facility by South Ayrshire Council.
The gym, which has been extended, now boasts 'Life Fitness' equipment to boost cardio-vascular training and resistance machines to help build strength and stamina.
Much of the equipment is now Wi-Fi enabled, allowing customers to watch TV, listen to music, or even download workout data direct to apps on smartphones – this means customers can more easily record their exercise regimes for optimum performance.
Members of the gym have already voiced their approval.
Colin Alcroft said: “Great, much better, bigger fantastic equipment love it”.
Karen Macruary said: “Very good loving the multi- functional machines spacious and modern”.
Derek Chamberlain said: “Really good equipment good use of space great facility”.
Councillor Bill Grant, Economic Development, Tourism and Leisure Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council said: “The gym has undergone a complete makeover and the high-tech equipment is sure to appeal.
"Well trained staff are on hand to introduce customers to the new machines and help people achieve their fitness goals. So don’t wait until the new year to get active, pop along and have a try today.”
