THE Scottish Chamber Orchestra will be back at Ayr Town Hall this January and tickets are selling fast for their New Year in Vienna Concert.

The evening will be conducted by one of Ayr’s favourite conductors, Nicholas McGegan, and feature the sparkling soprano Elizabeth Watts who will be singing the Laughing Song from Die Fledermaus, amongst other delights, and the orchestra will bring waltzes and polkas from Vienna.

There is nothing quite like the atmosphere in the concert hall on New Year’s Day: anticipation, celebration of a new start, sharing time with family and friends, and of course the captivating orchestra with soprano Elizabeth Watts adding a touch of sparkle to the evening.

With twirling cellos, party poppers, waltzes and polkas, expect a skip in your step as you leave the concert hall feeling upbeat. There will also be a collection in aid of Marie Curie.

The concert will start at 7.30pm on Tuesday, January 3. To buy tickets call the Gaiety Box Office, open Monday to Saturday, 10.00am to 5.00pm, on 01292 288 235. For the Circle it's £24; Stalls are £20, students £5, children only £3.

Don't miss out.
