Community back Girvan fundraiser which remembered Maidens lad Allan
FRIENDS and family of the late Allan Dewar, who sadly passed away before his 21st birthday, raised £773 for a memorial bench in his name.
Many came together on Saturday, November 19 at the Hamilton Arms in Girvan in a special charity event for the bench which also raised £505 for Tip Off Animal Rescue.
Barbara, Allan's mothers has also received donations from various friends, families and companies totalling £1190.70. Allan slipped away four weeks before his 21st birthday due to sepsis.
Marion Barr, who organised the fundraiser, was delighted at the success of the night. She said: "I would like to say a massive thank you to one and all who made it happen."
