POLICE are urging locals to be aware of online fraud after a man from Mossblown fell victim to a scam.

It is understood that man believed he was buying an iPhone 7 from an online source, paid money but never received the phone.

A spokesman from Police Scotland said: "People are falling for these tricks all the time. They are paying money but not getting the goods. We want everyone would take extra care.

"Fraudsters known people will be desperate for these items. We want to raise public awareness about this. If it's too good to be true, it usually is. We want people to do some research before buying anything."

Inquires are ongoing.
