In preparation for the big event on Friday September 2 and Saturday September 3, South Ayrshire Council has a website providing traffic and travel news - at www.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/scottish-international-airshow/
With 120,000 people visiting last year’s event and similar numbers expected this year, there could be congestion on the roads network. To minimise this, the website features a Traffic and Travel Storymap giving the latest information, also highlighting signposting available parking and road closures in the run up to and during the event.
The website is worth a look as some roads are closed on the Thursday just before the event with more roads affected on the Friday and the Saturday.
You might not be able to park where you normally leave your car and there could be speed limits.
The following roads will be closed from midnight on Wednesday August 31 until midnight Saturday September 3.
The Esplanade (from Blackburn Dr to Pavilion Rd)
Blackburn Drive (from Blackburn Road to The Esplanade)
