PROSPECTIVE students have the chance to find out more about study options at University of the West of Scotland’s Ayr Campus at its Open Day on Saturday, September 10 (11am-3pm).

Not only will information on the University’s career-focused undergraduate study options be covered at this information event, but visitors will have the chance to find out about the University’s significant investment in teaching and learning, IT and campus facilities.

UWS is a great place to study as is highlighted by the results of the National Student Survey (NSS) 2016. UWS has moved up 16 places in the overall student satisfaction survey table, up to 48th out of 119 UK institutions and up one place in the Scottish table, now ninth out of 17 institutions.

In addition, the latest Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) 2014/15 survey has found that 66 per cent of UWS graduates are in professional employment six months after graduating. This is an increase of 6.8 per cent compared with the previous year and is 8 per cent above the Scottish average. And 95 per cent of UWS graduates are in work or further study overall.

This event will give prospective students the opportunity to speak to staff about existing and new course developments, discuss their career interests, and discover more about the facilities available at Ayr Campus.

Gillian Lavercombe, Marketing Manager – Student Recruitment, said: “The aim of this event is to provide prospective students and their advisors with information on the full range of options available at Ayr Campus, so that they can make an informed choice about their future studies.”
