THE ENERGY Agency based at Auchincruive, has recently achieved Bronze level in Resource Efficient Scotland Pledge Scheme.

In order to demonstrate a commitment to reducing resource use within the organisation, the Energy Agency must have developed an Environmental Policy, reduced transport emissions and have leased an electric vehicle.

The Pledge scheme, developed by Resource Efficient Scotland, is a Scottish Government-funded programme delivered by Zero Waste Scotland, to demonstrate an organisation’s commitment to a low carbon economy for Scotland.

Liz Marquis, Director of Energy Agency said “The Resource Efficiency Pledge is a great way for the Energy Agency to demonstrate our commitment to reducing our own resource use, as well as helping householders and businesses through the programmes we run throughout Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway. It was a straightforward process and we would encourage any business to take the pledge and see how they can save resources and money”

Work has now started to achieve the silver level.
