West FM radio host Colin McArdle has decided to hang up his breakfast show headphones after a fantastic 21 years on air with the Ayrshire station.
McArdle presented his final early morning show today and can look forward to a slightly later start on Monday when he fully focuses on his other career in car sales.
Paying tribute to McArdle, West FM content director Mike Richardson said:
“Colin has been an outstanding colleague, a fantastic ambassador for West FM and probably the most hard working man in both radio and car sales! He is a great talent and I know his 21 years with West FM will be fondly remembered by many people, and that he will always be a friend of the station.
“On behalf of everyone on the West FM team I would like to say a huge thank you to Colin for all his hard work and commitment. We’ve all massively enjoyed working with him on the show and wish him every success – as well as some well-earned extra sleep – in the future.”
A new breakfast show for West FM will be announced in due course with Alan Shaw hosting this Monday.
