THE CHAIR of the of the Carrick Community Leisure (SCCL) has stepped down to pursue charitable work abroad.
Andrew Sinclair has been at the helm of the community's contribution to the project to deliver recently named, 'The Quay Zone', since 2011.
Andrew said: "I have worked tirelessly over the last five years to ensure the people of Girvan and South Carrick will have access to the quality leisure and community facilities they deserve.
"I am so proud of what we have achieved and I am indebted to the local community, the Council and all our funding partners for helping make this happen.
"It has been a real privilege to lead SCCL.
"With the project in such a good place, and continually growing demand for the charitable work I’m involved with setting up dental clinics in Uganda and Cambodia, it seemed like the ideal time to step down.
The board and a new Chair will have the chance to put their mark on the operational plans and running of The Quay Zone before it opens March 2017.
