DANSARENA Studios is just one of the buildings in Ayr to benefit from refurbishment projects run by ARPL Architects.

The dance school had its roof re-slated last year between April and September and was able to run as normal during the project.

Karen Mitchell, Principle of Dansarena, said: "My husband Dennis Gage and I would like to express our thanks to Ayr Renaissance for the wonderful work that was carried out on the renovation of Dansarena roof last year.

"We are absolutely delighted with the support we were given with all the support from all the parties concerned in the project. Dansarena never stopped. We had all the construction work around the side carried out during term time.

"Work was then completed around the front during the school holidays. All in all it was a wholly successful project and we want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts."

Dansarena is just one of the buildings that was given a grant to help it reconstruct. New City restaurant and Ayr Professionals also benefited from £25,000 grant maintenance project and window rot was removed from Ayr Professionals.

Georgian Buildings on New Bridge built in 1787 and 1984, which sit on either side of the bridge, have been restored to their former glory.

Gordon Fleming, Director of ARPL Architects, said: "The project was to turn these two buildings into a gateway for the town. These two tenements are the most impressive part of the 'Townscape' project."

Other projects just outside Ayr include the Belleisle Park golf club which has newly opened and the conservatory which has just started its second phase. Structure and double glazing has been completed and the interior will be installed.

Mr Flemming concluded: "We want to bring people back - visitors and tourists - and give them something to do in Ayr.
