A MAN from Maybole who drove over four times the limit has been disqualified from driving for five years.
Douglas Andrews, of Dailly Road, admitted driving a vehicle on Maybole's High Street while the proportion of alcohol in his breath was 93 microgrammes in 100 millilitres which exceeded the limit of 22 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on November 21, 2015.
Andrews appeared before Sheriff Mhairi MacTaggart at Ayr Sheriff Court last Tuesday, May 10.
Sheriff MacTaggart addressed the dock: "Mr Andrews I am in no doubt you are aware this could cause you a custodial sentence. You will have to address these underlying issues.
Andrews will complete 24 months of community payback order and 180 hours of unpaid work within 12 months. He has been disqualified from driving for five years and his licence has been endorsed.
