Tam’s Brig Post Office in Ayr is to move up the road to a nearby newsagent.
But one resident plans to do what he can to bring the closure of the Post Office - which has served the general public for more than 100 years - from closing.
The New Road shop is adjacent to a busy T-junction and a bus stop and could cause safety problems for customers according to Eddie England.
The worried local resident raised concerns about this proposal and told us that he planned to start a campaign.
He said: “It will be difficult for parcel deliveries and uplifts as a result of the double yellow lines. Parking is not straight forward either. All in all it is extremely inconvenient.
“In addition the post office is used by a large elderly clientele.”
The Post Office has started a six week local consultation and forms available at Tams Brig post office. The intended move is to be late March/ early April.
