AN ACTOR from one of Scotland’s favourite TV dramas was guest speaker at the 82nd Coylton reunion.

Ronnie Paterson, born and bred in the village, was joined by fellow Coylton man James Kirkwood.

They were invited home to the annual event which was held in Claude Hamilton Hall at the weekend.

Mr Paterson played Sorry Watson in High Road, and delivered an entertaining talk on his acting career in which he appeared in many roles over the years.

His fellow-speaker, Mr Kirkwood, has worked in the prison service for more than 30 years as well as being prominent in the amateur football scene.
He was involved with several local teams.

These included Coylton Amateurs and Ayr Academy among others, which enabled him to give an entertaining talk to the gathering.

Also keeping the momentum going was the five-piece Caber Fiddlers group who played twice during the evening.

The reunion could not have taken place without the support of the local community.

This resulted in some 45 raffle prizes being donated.
