MAYBOLE student Caitlin Alexander is following up her successful climb of Mount Kilimanjaro by taking part in a cycle around India.  The 19-year-old has already raised £2,750 for Childreach International which fights for the rights of children, by scaling Kilimanjaro - one of the world's highest mountains.

She said: "I am the team leader for Childreach International's India on Two Wheels trip and my job is to find 22 people who would like to take part in the cycle tour and raise some money for the charity.

“Childreach International are an international child rights charity that works in seven countries including the UK. We run challenge events every year in order to get people involved with the charity.

“Everyone taking part has to raise £2,895 in order to go on the trip but this includes flights, accommodation, airport transfers and food. They also have to pay a registration fee and this is all that the trip will cost to them as the rest is fundraised.

“The trip starts on August 15, 2016 and lasts for 22 days. It consists of a 510km cycle through India, ending up at the Taj Mahal.

“We will be immersed in Indian culture every minute of the trip and will have some independent travel time at the end to explore India some more.

"The trip caters for all cycling abilities so it doesn't matter if people haven't been on a bike since primary school, there's plenty of time to get back into it!”

“When we are on the trip, there is a project visit that we will go to so that fundraisers can see where their money is going to “If anyone is interested then they can email me at caitlinalexander1996@gmail.com and I will be happy to answer questions and help them to sign up.”
