A MAN who threatened to stab his girlfriend’s family has been admonished from court.
William Roger, of Oakwood Avenue in Ayr, was spared punishment after Ayr Sheriff Court heard that he was a first offender.
A night out with his partner ended with him being locked in a police cell after he got into a fight with her.
Roger and Kelly Slater had been out to a party in the town on October 3 this year, which then moved onto a nightclub.
Ms Slater got talking to another man when the pair were out, which sent 31-year-old Roger into a jealous rage, leading to a fierce argument when they got back to her Prestwick home.
Fiscal Mhairi Mair told the court: “She [Slater] told him that if he was going to behave this way, then he should stay at his parents home.
“To which the accused responded, ‘f*****g make me’.
“Ms Slater then said she would phone her father and brother to help if his behaviour continued.
“The accused then went into the kitchen and picked up two knives, one in each hand, and pointed them at the complainer and said ‘phone your dad and brother, I’ll stab both of them.’”
Mr Duncan, defending Roger, said: “The accused is a first time offender and is still in a relationship with the complainer.
“There was knives involved here, but he is someone who is very hard working and has two jobs.”
Sheriff Desmond Leslie said: “Let this be a lesson to you Mr Roger. You spent two nights in police custody because of your actions. But you’ve not been in trouble before and I accept that and under those circumstances you are admonished.”
