A GIRVAN man has been ordered to stay away from his ex-wife after a campaign of terror.
David Fyfe, 57, from Cherry Drive, Girvan, appeared before Ayr Sheriff Court last week charged with terrorising his ex-wife, Rhona Fyfe.
Fyfe had been prohibited from contacting his former partner since October 2013.
However, between September 13, 2014, and January 28, 2015, Fyfe hounded friends of Ms Fyfe and even made a phone call to her father.
Fyfe contacted his ex-partner’s friend on social media as well approaching another pal enquiring about her whereabouts.
Solicitor Steven Maxwell, defending, informed the court of a “long term alcohol problem” that Fyfe has struggled with.
Sheriff John Montgomery told Fyfe: “You’ve terrorised your wife with your behaviour.”
The sheriff then handed Fyfe a non-harassment order for the next three years. A community payback order was also imposed, placing him under supervision for the next two years as well as receiving alcohol counselling.
