Save our post offices: Just two weeks to go
Our Roisin posts your petitions to mail bosses
THERE is now less than two weeks left to have your say and save your post office from closure.
Last week we posted hundreds of your views from our online petition and cut out coupons to mail bosses public consultation team Network Change urging them to save South Ayrshire"s 11 branches which are under threat.
The discussion period finishes on Monday, September 1 but you can still add your opinions on our website, by sending in your coupons and writing to us.
Consumer group Postwatch Scotland chairman Alan Alexander said: 'Constructive input from local communities is important. Changes are going to take place in the post office network.
'It is essential these are made with the benefit of local customer feedback to help minimise inconvenience and disruption. Postwatch Scotland has provided initial comments on Post Office Ltd"s proposals.
'Our final position, however, will take into account the responses we and Post Office Ltd receive from customers during the consultation period. We ask that customers respond to Post Office Ltd and send a copy of their response to ourselves.'
Closure plans have targeted branches in Ayr town centre, Forehill, Loans, Prestwick, Girvan, Kirkmichael, Straiton, Turnberry, Dailly, Dunure and Minishant.
