Predictions of a mass clearout at AYr United were proved to be spot-on as EIGHT players were released on Tuesday morning.
Heading for the exit doors are goalkeeper Mark McGeown. Chris Robertson, Craig Pettigrew, David Lowing, David Dunn, Jerome Vareille, Iain Anderson, who has been plagued by injury, and could hang up his boots, and Gareth Wardlaw.
Martyn Campbell and Murray Henderson have both re-signed.
New deals have been offered to fans' favourite Andy McLaren and Neil McGowan while youngster Fraser Stewart has been retained.
Striker Paul McLeod will return to First Division champions Hamilton Accies.
Paul Weaver, Eddie Forrest, Ryan Stevenson, Alex Williams and Willie Easton are all still under contract.
