Farmer fined for taking cancer cow to market
A CRUEL farmer has been fined £1,500 for taking a cow suffering from a huge tumour on its eye to Ayr cattle market.
Officers from Ayr’s Trading Standards department descended on Craigs market, on the outskirts of the town, as part of a routine inspection when they discovered the cow with cancer.
After a closer examination by a government vet, it was decided that the animal should not have been transported and was unfit to travel any further,
Farmer David Morrison’s poor animal had to be put down at the market.
