Meet Ayrshire's woman of the year

A FUNDRAISING champion spurred on by the tragic death of her friend became an award winner last weekend at a glittering ceremony.
Lorna Dempsey, from Dalmellington, won a woman of achievement accolade after spearheading the Butterfly Events venture that has raised a superb £43,000 so far.
All money raised goes to Cancer Research UK and by the end of the year, Lorna and her committee intend to hit the £50,000 mark having organised several unique nights that saw the cash flowing in.
