Strike 2: 4000 council workers walk out over pay
STRIKERS will again bring council services to a standstill this Wednesday.
Some 4,000 members of the Unison union have revealed that further action will take place unless employers improve their 2.5 per cent pay offer.
As a result, most council services in Ayrshire will be severely disrupted with the closure of schools, day care centres, leisure facilities, social work, housing provision and refuse collection.
South Ayrshire branch secretary Renee Gillan said: “In the event that it becomes needed, we now have authorisation for further action after September 24."
