What does the future hold for Somerset Park and Ayr United ?

FANS of Ayr United are shell-shocked after Barratt Homes decided to back out of plans to purchase Somerset Park.

The club had thrashed out a deal to sell the five-acre site around the ground to the building giants and pay for a new stadium and also wipe out their debts.

Although planning permission had still to be granted for both projects, a blueprint had been released heralding the new 14-acre site at Heathfield that would be the club’s next home.
