Jessica Appeal hits £100,000 mark
HOPEFUL: Little Jessica and aunt Jenni
THE Jessica Appeal has now tipped the scales at an amazing £100,000.
Residents from across South Ayrshire have been collecting, donating, sponsoring and hosting multiple events in a bid to get the little girl her life-saving surgery.
A few weeks ago we previously revealed how £80,000 had been raised but the new figure takes four-year-old Jessica one step closer to being able to have her operation.
Although the new figure is fantastic news, much of it is pledged and still to be handed over.
Mum Rachel Findlay said: “It has been really great. It really must be at £100,000 now but there is still an awful lot of money to come in.
“A lot of people have pledged large sums of money that have said will come in as soon as Jessica gets her official date.
“I just want to make sure her surgery is definitely going to be possible. It is just you don’t know until it is there and I’m just trying to avoid a mad rush at the last moment because the hospital have said that I could have a call and for them to say come on Friday and then what are we going to do.
“People have raised an awful lot but it will be mad if I have to phone everyone up and ask them to get it in on short notice.”
Apart from pledged money a number of events have been happening throughout South Ayrshire on behalf of Jessica such as coffee morning, a medium night as well as the recent fun day and party night.
Now all the money has to be collated to ensure she can get the surgery when it becomes available.
