War of words over ambulance debate
MAJOR concerns over ambulance cover in Carrick are to be investigated following an out-cry over a potentially fatal 65-mile trek for heart patients.
Previously anxious residents handed over a petition against the transfer of patients to East Kilbride’s Hairmyres Hospital rather than Ayr or Crosshouse Hospitals.
Now an independent inquiry on the Scottish Ambulance Service is set to get underway following parliamentary pressure.
